Bu ara, mürekkepli kalemleri yine sayıca arttırmışım gördüğünüz üzere.

Pilot VP'yi biliyorsunuz zaten. Yazısı gerçekten yakında gelecek, fotoğrafları çekildi. R&K Alt-Goldgrün ise daha önce incelediğim mürekkeplerden bir tanesi. Özellikle böyle kalın uçlarda harika harelenme yapıyor. Bayılıyorum.

Pelikan Th.ink, Pelikan'ın gençlere yönelik tasarladığı yeni bir kalemi. Özellikle tasarladığı diyorum her yerinden tasarım akıyor. Caran d'Ache Saffron ise hayat veren bir turuncuya sahip.

Louis Vuitton Jet Ligne kalemi ikinci kere bu sefer L'artisan Pastellier Bleu Baikal ile mürekkepledim. Bu da, harelenmesi yüksek bir mürekkep. Jet Ligne gibi esnek altın uçlu ve ıslak bir kalemle iyi anlaştılar.

TWSBI Diamond 540 blogta pek göremeseniz de, çok sevdiğim kalemlerden. Ucu çok kalın olmamasına rağmen oldukça ıslak. J. Herbin Vert Empire ise yine çok hareli, güzel renklerden biri. Özellikle fildişi kağıtlara çok yakıştırıyorum.

Pelikan Level 65 ise, her daim mürekkepli tuttuğum, hafifliği ile uzun uzun yazdığım yazılarda beni yormayan bir kalem. Medium kısmında bir soru işareti var çünkü bu kalemin ucu italikimsi. Diğer Level 65'lerin uçlarına hiç mi hiç benzemiyor. İçerisinde ise, Waterman Florida Mavisi ile Waterman Kırmızı mürekkebin karışımı mevcut.

As you can see, number of my inked pens are too damn high :)

You have seen Pilot VP in this blog before. The post will be here quite soon, it was photographed. I reviewed R&K Alt-Goldgrün before. It has a great, great shading especially with broad nibs. I love it!

Pelikan Th.ink, is a pen designed for youngs especially. I intentionally used the verb design because it is really a design pen. And Caran d'Ache Saffron has a vitalizing orange color.

Second in a row I inked Louis Vuitton Jet Ligne and this time with L'artisan Pastellier Bleu Baikal. This ink also has good shading and goes very well with Jet Ligne, a pen with flexible, juicy wet gold nib.

Even though you don't come across with TWSBI Diamond 540 very often in this blog, I really like it. Despite the fact it has a slim-Medium nib, it is still a wet writer. And J. Herbin Vert Empire is a nice ink with great shading either. I especially like it with ivory paper.

Pelikan Level 65 is a pen that I always keep inked since it is my little helper during long writing sessions with its light-weight body. There is a question mark near Medium, because it has a quasi-italic nib and it has nothing in common with other Level 65 nibs. It was inked with a mixture of Waterman Florida Blue and Waterman Red.

Cumartesi kardeşime gitmek üzere Kadıköy'e gelip de, otobüslerin çalışmadığını öğrenince, ben de soluğu kitapçılarda aldım. Üstte Paperblanks benzeri Art Blancs isimli bir markaya ait defteri görüyorsunuz. Alttakiler ise yeni kitaplarım. Defteri kullanır kullanmaz yorumlarımı paylaşacağım sizinle.

Pazar günü ise, arkadaşlarla birlikte geçirilen güzel bir Kuzguncuk, Kanlıca, Emirgan, Bebek, Hidiv Kasrı, Meydan gezmesinden payıma düşenler. Freud'un Totem ve Tabu'sunun ilk baskısı, el yazısı üzerine bir kitap, The Missing Ink ve Nezih'ten alınmış iki adet defter.

Ama Cuma gecesinden başlayarak haftasonun geneli nasıl geçti diye soracak olursanız, Mesnevi ile geçti diyebilirim. Uzun zamandır elime almamıştım, ne kadar özlediğimi fark ettim. İnsan başucu kitaplarını, (ki onlara belki yolumuzu aydınlattıkları için başucu lambaları demek lazım) ihmal etmemeli.

Bu da Pazartesi sabahı bonusu olsun. Ofix.com'dan Gökhan Bey'in gönderdiği, çok zevkli bir şekilde paketlenmiş hediyelerim. Acaba içinde ne var?

Saturday I was ready to visit my sister at her place and went to Kadikoy. However, I noticed that the buses don't work for a reason. So I dropped by a bookstore where they always offer stationery products. Here you can see my new books and my Art Blancs brand notebook on the top, which is quite similar to Paper Blanks.

Sunday was a great day in the route of Kuzguncuk, Kanlica, Emirgan, Bebek, Hidiv Kasri and Meydan (Click the links to see some fabulous places in Istanbul) and what I got from this trip was: The first edition of Freud Totem and Taboo in Turkish, a book on handwriting: The Missing Ink and two notebooks from Nezih Stationery Store.

However, if you ask how was the weekend as a general picture, I can say it was all with Mesnevi. I did not read Mesnevi for a while and I realized that how much I missed it. Those books are like bedside books and I call them as bedside lamps since they enlighten our lifes. So they should not be ignored.

And lastly, this is the Monday surprise: My nicely packaged gifts by Ofix.com. What can it be?

Pilot Vanishing Point, oldukça eğlenceli bir dolmakalem. Bakmayın siz onun bu karalara bürünmüş, yas tutar hallerine. Bir tık'la dolmakalemin ucu dışarıda, bir tık'la içeride. Dolmakalem dünyasından bihaber insanlar için neredeyse büyülü denilebilecek derecede devrimci bir yapısı var. Mat siyah, özel üretim olduğundan böyle büyük bir kutuda geliyor. Kutuyu açtığınızda karşınıza ilk çıkan kaleme dair özelliklerin, insanı sıkmadan yazılmış kısa bir özeti.

Kağıdı kaldırdığınız zaman ise, kalem kendisini çok hoş bir şekilde size sunuyor. Öyle ki, iki şeffaf plastik parçanın arasında, sanki havada asılı duruyormuş izlenimi veriyor.

Kalemin ilk görüntüsü bu şekilde. Sol taraf kalemin, bastığınız zaman ucu dışarı çıkartan üst kısmı. Sağ taraftaki küt bölümden ise uç dışarı çıkıyor. Tamamen mat siyah olan kalemin bağlantı noktasındaki halkalar parlak siyah dizayn edilmiş ve üzerindeki tek yazı, fotoğrafta gördüğünüz "Pilot Japan" yazısı ki, kalem üzerinde yazıdan hoşlanmayan beni bile rahatsız etmedi.

Uç dışarı çıktığında işte bu görüntü ortaya çıkıyor. Kalemin cüssesine bakılırsa oldukça ufak bir uç bu. Uçlarda EF, F, M ve B olmak üzere dört seçenek muvcut. Bunun dışında, Ucu altın sarısı ya da gümüş rengi (rodyum) olarak alabiliyorsunuz. Bu son iki seçenek arasında renk dışında herhangi bir fark yok.

Kalemi parçalara ayırdığınızda elde ettiğiniz görüntü bu şekilde. Oldukça ufak, kendiliğinden dönüştürücülü bir uç mekanizması ve gövde. Buna dayanarak Pilot güzel bir uygulamaya gitmiş ve ucu ve gövdeyi ayrı ayrı almaya imkan tanımış. Yani dilerseniz bu kalemi aldıktan sonra sadece ucunu ya da gövdesini satın alıp iki farklı uçla ya da iki farklı gövde ile kullanabilirsiniz. Bence çok mantıklı.

Ben kalemi Amerika'ya giden bir arkadaşım vasıtası ile Goulet Pens'ten almıştım. Fiyatı seçtiğiniz uçla birlikte 140 dolar. Eğer ayrıca bir uç daha satın almak isterseniz, uç için 61 dolar daha ödemeniz gerekiyor. Eğer sadece gövde almak isterseniz onun için de 79 dolar ödemeniz gerekiyor. Bu arada, normalde Japon kalemleri ile genelde Japon mürekkeplerinin tavsiye edildiğini bilirsiniz. Eğer currently inked kısmını takip ediyorsanız, geçen haftalarda kendisini R&K Alt-Goldgrün ile kullandığımı da görmüşsünüzdür. Oldukça iyi anlaştıklarını söyleyebilirim.

Pilot Vanishing Point is a fun fountain pen. Don't judge it by its all black, gloomy, mourning outfit. With just a click, nib is out. With another click, it is in. It is very revolutionary even kind of magical for people who doesn't follow fountain pen world. (What kind of sorcery is that!) Since matte black is a special edition, it comes with a big box. When you open the box, the first thing you see is a brief summary of the pen's qualifications.

When you take out the info paper, the pen manifests itself in a very nice way, it looks like flowing in the midair by being between two layers of plastic wrap.

The first appearance of the pen is like above. Left side is the top of the pen which reveals the nib when you click in. The blunt part at the right end is where nib nib comes out. While the pen is all matte black, only the rings of the assembling piece designed in shiny black finish. Only indication on the pen is "Pilot Japan" writing which did not bother me even though I really don't like writings on fountain pens.

When the nib revealed, you have this view. Compared to the body of the pen, nib can deemed very tiny. There are four different nib sizes consisting EF, F, M and B. Apart from that, you can either choose your nib gold plated or rhodium plated. There is no difference between those last two options other than the coloring.

When you disassemble the pen, it looks like that. There is a tiny nib section with a built-on converter and a body. Depending on this, Pilot offers nibs and bodies seperately. It means that, if you already have this pen, you can buy different nibs or different bodies. So that, you can use it with two different nibs or two different bodies. I think it makes sense.

I bought this pen from Goulet Pens via a friend of mine who visited the States. It is 140 dollars with a nib you choose. If you want to get an extra nib, then you pay 61 dollars. If you only want to get the body then you have to pay 79 dollars. By the way, normally it is suggested to use Japanese inks with Japanese pens. However, if you follow "Currently Inked" posts you can see that I use this pen with R&K Alt-Goldgrün in the recent weeks. I can say they get along quite well.

Pros:

+ It is a nice design

+ Ballpoint click mechanism makes it easier to use

+ Nibs of Pilot fountain pens are quite good

Cons:

- Since the clips is on the grip section, it might bother some people

- A bit heavy (But you can choose Decimo model which is slimmer and lighter)

Hepimizin pek çok kalemi var, dolmakalemler, tükenmez kalemler, kurşun kalemler... Dolmakalemcilerin, bir ömür yetecek mürekkepleri de var genelde halihazırda. Ama dolmakalem ve mürekkep ya da kalem tek başına yetmiyor. İlla bir arkadaş, bir yaren arıyor kendisinde. Biz nasıl başımızı sevgilinin göğsüne yaslıyor, öyle akıtıyorsak sevinçlerimizi de dertlerimizi de, kalem de başını kağıda yaslamadıkça tamam olmuyor. Bu yüzden defter mühim şey. (Çok duygusala bağlamadan keseyim en iyisi)

Bu yüzden Ofix.com'dan Gökhan Bey bana hediye göndermek istediklerini söyleyince, iki adet defter seçtim kendime. O iki defterden bir tanesi de geri dönüşümlü kağıtlardan elde edilen bu Note Eco defterdi. 80 gr ağırlıkta, geri dönüşümlü kağıttan elde edilmiş ve üzerindeki baskısı bitkisel mürekkeplerle yapılmış bu defteri dolmakalemlerle test ettim.

Defteri kalın (B) uçlu Pilot Vanishing Point, oldukça ıslak yazan cursive italik Lady Sheaffer, yeni gözbebeğim Taccia Savanna, ince uçlu Scrikss Vintage 71, Uni-ball Signo Broad ve Dong-A Hexaplus ile test ettim.

Gördüğünüz gibi, çok ıslak yazan Lady Sheaffer dışında yalnızca Uni-ball Signo Broad ile biraz arkada gölgeleme yaptı. Diğer kalemlerle aynı sorunu yaşamadım. Yani eğer ince uçlu ya da orta ıslaklıkta medium uçlu kalem kullanırsanız, arkalı önlü yazabileceğiniz bir defterle karşı karşıyayız.

Defterin arka kapağında da bir cep mevcut. Ancak cepte körük sistemi olmadığından çok kullanışlı değil. Yine de güzel bir düşünce olduğundan ve geliştirilebilir olduğundan Note Eco'yu takdir ediyorum.

Note Eco Defterin Artıları

+ Bir kere bu defter geri dönüşümlü kağıttan elde ediliyor. Bu seçim yaparken önemli bir kriter.

+ Kağıdı oldukça güzel, gördüğünüz gibi çok ıslak kalemler hariç arkada gölgelenme yapmadı.

+ Fiyatı oldukça uygun. Sert kapaklı, lastikli bu defteri Ofix.com'dan 13 tl'ye almanız mümkün.

Eksileri

- Lastik biraz ince ve arka cebi körüklü yaparlarsa fiyat performans oranı ideale en yakın defterlerden biri olacaktır diye inanıyorum.

We all have a lot of pens: fountain pens, ballpoints, pencils... Fountain pen enthusiasts often have ink enough for a life time. However, fountain pen or ink does not sufficient itself. It always seeks for a friend, a company. As we lean our head toward the loved one's chest to pass over our cheers and sorrows, pen also cannot be completed unless leaning its head to the paper. That's why notebook is important (Ok, I am cutting the crap before I got more and more romantic :p)

Hence, when Gokhan Bey told me that they wanted to send me gift from Ofix.com, I choosed two notebooks for myself. One of the two notebooks was this Note Eco Notebook with 80 gr recycled paper and printed with herbal inks and I tested this notebook with fountain pens.

Test was made with Pilot VP Broad, a very juicy Lady Sheaffer, my new baby Taccia Savanna, fine nib Scrikss Vintage 71, Uni-ball Signo Broad and Dong-A Hexaplus.

As you can see, except very juicy Lady Sheaffer, only Uni-ball Signo Broad made a bit shadowing at the back page. None of the other pens caused a problem. So, if you use fine pens or moderate mediums, it means you can use the back pages either.

There is a pocket at the back cover of the notebook. However, since there is no foling hood, it is not very useful. Yet, it is a nice thought to put a pocket so I appreciate Note Eco.

Pros:

+ First of all, it was made from recycled paper. It is an important criteria.

+ Besides, quality of the paper is quite good. No back-shadowing except wet pens.

+ And the price is quite convincing. You can buy this pen for 13 TL (app. 5 EUR) from Ofix.com

Cons:

- If they improve the elastic band a bit and add a folding hood to the back pocket, it will be an optimal notebook I guess.

Sometimes, you just need the alphabet to play with a pen. I really like the word alphabet, as comes from alpha-beta in Greek or elif-be in Arabic. Even though the word itself gives only the credit for the first two letters, don't you think the letters have an integrity all together?

Ofix.com'dan gelen ikinci defter ise Ecologic markalı defterdi. Bu defter, keçe bir kılıftan, içindeki spiralli, sert plastik kapaklı, değişebilir iç defterden ve yanında bir tükenmez kalemden oluşuyor. Lastik yerine çıtçıtla kapanan yapıda olduğu için ben bu defteri ayrıca sevdim.

Bu da, defteri açtığınız zaman oluşan görüntü. Spiralli defterlerden hoşlanmayanlar olduğunu biliyorum ama iç defter değişebildiği için, bu keçe kılıfı başka defterlerle de kullanabilirsiniz.

Bu defteri de, Note Eco defteri test ettiğim kalemlerle denedim. Pilot VP Broad, Lady Sheaffer, Taccia Savanna, Scrikss Vintage 71, Uniball Signo Broad ve Dong-a Hexaplus Fineliner.

Ancak gördüğünüz gibi, Ecologic kırçıllanma yapmasa da, arka sayfaya yazımı neredeyse imkansız olacak şekilde gölgelenme yaptı. Ama dediğim gibi, iç defteri değiştirmek mümkün olduğu için bu durumun çok sorun olacağını zannetmiyorum.

Defter kapalı haldeyken de bu şekilde görünüyor. Kaleminizi takmak için elastik bir halka ve altında yeşil çok şık bir etiket mevcut. Kalem çıtçıtlı kapağın altında oldukça güvenli şekilde duruyor.

Ben açıkçası bu defteri, keçenin verdiği doğallık hissini, antrasit rengini, kenarındaki yeşil etiketini çok sevdim. İç defter dolmakalem kullanıcılarını tatmin etmeyecek olsa da, değiştirilebiliyor olması çok pratik geldi. Defterin Ofix.com'daki fiyatı KDV dahil 19,45 TL. Bence bu parayı hak edecek kadar özenli yapılmış.

The second notebook coming from Ofix.com was this Ecologic notebook. It consists of, a felt out-cover, a spiraled hard plastic cover inner and changeable notebook and a ballpoint pen. I liked this notebook since it has a press-stud instead of an elastic wrap.

This is the view, when you open the notebook. I know, there are some who doesn't like spiraled notebooks but since you can change the inner notebook, you can always have options to use the felt out-cover with other notebooks.

I also tested this notebook with the same pens I tested Note Eco Notebook: Pilot VP Broad, Lady Sheaffer, Taccia Savanna, Scrikss Vintage 71, Uniball Signo Broad and Dong-a Hexaplus Fineliner.

However, as you can see, even though there is no feathering, Ecologic caused so much shadowing that makes impossible to use the back pages. Nevertheless, as you can always have chance to change the inner notebook, I don't deem it as a severe problem.

When you close the notebook it looks like this. You have an elastic band to attach your pen and a nice green label just beneath it. The pen stays safely under the press-stud lid.

Frankly, I liked this notebook, the natural feel that felt gives, the dark grey color and little green label on the side. Although, the inner notebook will not be satisfying for fountain pen users, I think it is practical that it can be switched easily. This notebook is offered for 19,45 including VAT (which is less than 10 EUR). I think it deserves every penny.

Kalem hiç bir zaman tek başına yeterli olmuyor demiştim hatırlıyor musunuz? Yazmak gerekiyor. Kimi zaman defterlere, kimi zaman mektuplara ama hep yazmak. Yazdıkça, okudukça insanın estetik duygusu da bir o kadar artıyor ve sadece yazmak kesmez oluyor. Ben de bu estetik algısından hareketle, yabancı bloglarda gördüğüm mühürlere hep özenip duruyordum. İşin güzel tarafı, sınırlama yok. Mühür olarak kullanmak istediğiniz şeyleri Yasemin'e tiff, pdf, eps gibi formatlarda atıyorsunuz. O da sizi mühür olarak yapıp gönderiyor. Do you remember that I told you, pens are never enough by themselves? We need to write. Sometimes in notebooks, sometimes in letters but always keep writing. And once you start writing, aesthetic sense increaes and after a while just writing is not enough. I was quite admiring the stamps that I came across in foreign blogs. Apart from the difficulty, finding it in Turkey, I cannot even refer to a shop which I find in Amsterdam selling only stamps due to its really high prices. However, I filled with hope when I see the post in Yasemin's blog Hayaller Atolyesi (Dreams Atelier)

Th.ink'in Pelikano'lardan ayrıldığı en önemli nokta ise devrimci sayılabilecek, üçgen ve pek çok farklı materyalin bir araya getirildiği dizaynı. Pelikan th.ink, bildiğimiz anlamda klasik Pelikano çelik uca sahip ve oldukça hafif. Yazım konusunda tıpkı selefi Pelikano gibi, yumuşak ve sorunsuz bir yazım vaad ediyor. Bu noktada Pelikan'ın beni hiç yanıltmadığını söylebilirim sanırım.

Kalemde gördüğünüz siyah kısımlar sert plastikten, mor kısımlar ise yumuşak bir plastik materyalden yapılmışlar. Üçgen dizayn kimilerinin hoşuna gitmese de, yazımda kolaylık sağlıyor. Kapak gördüğünüz gibi oldukça ufak ve gömlek cebinde taşımak ya da defter kenarına iliştirmek için bir klips taşıyor. Ancak kapağın sert açılması gibi sıkıntı mevcut. Kullanıma bağlı olarak yumuşayacağını düşünüyorum.

Kalem, iki adet kısa ya da bir adet büyük Pelikan kartuşla çalışıyor. Böylelikle büyük kartuşları kullanarak, sıkı bir yazım arkadaşı edinebilirsiniz. Kartuşu yerleştirmek için gövdeyi ortasından sökmeniz gerekiyor. Bu da alışılagelmişin biraz dışında. Pelikan'ın bu dizaynı, özellikle kalemin tutma kısmının daha konforlu olması için yaptığını düşünüyorum.

Pelikan th.ink is one of pens which Pelikan mostly designed for young people. Previously, I wrote a lot about Pelikan Pelikano pens as you might remember. The most important element that th.ink differs from Pelikano pens is, its revolutionary design. This pen appeared at one of the Currently Inked posts before. Maybe you remember it.

Pelikan th.ink has a classic Pelikano steel nib and very light-weighted. It gives a smooth, easy writing like its predecessor, Pelikano. I guess, I can surely say that Pelikan never upsets.

Black parts of the pen is made of hard plastic and the purple parts are made of a rubber-like soft plastic. I know, some people do not enjoy the triangular design, however I think grip section eases the writing periods. However, cap is a bit hard to open but I think it might get looser due to the usage.

Pen works with two short cartridges or one big Pelikan cartridge. So, you can have a reliable friend for long writing sessions. You have to unscrew the body from the middle in order to put or change the cartridge. This is a bit unusual. But I think, Pelikan intentionally choose this design just to improve the comfort of grip section.

Bildiğiniz gibi, Montblanc yakın zamanda Albert Einstein'a ithafen bir kalem ve bir mürekkebi piyasaya sürdü. Albert Einstein'e ithaf edilen bu mürekkebin gri olması ve halihazırda Montblanc'ın Oyster Grey isimli, benim de şurada incelediğim bir mürekkebinin mevcut olması mürekkepseverlerde bir kafa karışıklığına yol açtı. Acaba bu iki gri birbirine ne kadar benziyordu? Ben de hazır bu iki griyi karşılaştıracakken, elimdeki diğer gri mürekkeplerden de bir swatch yaptım.

Gördüğünüz üzere, Albert Einstein mürekkep, Oyster Grey'e göre daha koyu, L'artisan Pastellier ise daha çok mavi alt tonlu bir gri. Bunlar içinde en koyu olanı ise Diamine'in gri mürekkebi.

As you know, Montblanc recently launched a fountain pen and an ink in memory of Albert Einstein. The ink dedicated to Albert Einstein was in grey tones and since Montblanc has already a grey ink Oyster Grey (please click for the review), ink enthusiasts were a bit confused wondering how much this inks were look-alike? Therefore, when I decided to compare those two inks, I wanted add my other grey inks to the swatch.

Seen above, Albert Einstein ink is a bit darker than Oyster Grey while L'artisan Pastellier is much more a blue-grey. And the darkest grey ink is the Diamine Grey among them.

Which one did you like the most?

Aslında farkındayım, bu karalamalara "Çizimlerim" diye başlık atılmaz, ama bir kere böyle başlamışım o yüzden kaçarı yok Özeleştiri bittiyse izaha geçeyim.

Kendime güzel bir suluboya seti aldım. Profesyonel sayılabilecek tarzda. Ama taşınmaydı vs derken elime alamadım. Daha önce de anlatmışımdır. Herhangi bir eğitimim yok. Ama bir şeyler karalamanın en güzel terapi olduğunu fark ettiğimden beri, ara sıra çizmeye, boyamaya sığınıyorum. Bununla birlikte malzemelere de yabancı olduğumdan, kalemim su ile dağılıyor, suluboyanın rengi tutmuyor, kafamdaki şeyle çizdiğim arasında dağlar kadar fark oluyor. Ama sıkıntı yok. Bizbizeyiz değil mi?

Actually I know, I cannot give an headline to those doodlings as "My Drawings" it is not nice. However, I started just like that and I have to continue to preserve the unity. Ok, since I had my daily self-criticism I can go on.

I got a very nice watercolor set which can be deemed a professional one. However, I did not have chance to use it while moving my home. As I told the story before. I have no education. But since I realized drawing, painting and coloring is the best theraphy I do it very often. And yet, since I have no knowledge of materials, my black pen smudges with water, cannot adjust the color on watercolor and there is a huge gap between what I think and what I draw. But no problem huh? No outsider here :)

PS: Some photos I tried to upload in blogger, rotates unexpectedly. Do you know a way to fix it?

Dolmakalem zahmetli iş hiç bulaşmayın diyorum ya, işte bu sebepten. Kalemi almakla bitmez. Yazmak için mürekkep ve defter, taşımak içinse kılıf ister. Ülkemizde, kalemi ve mürekkebi bulmak zor, dolmakalemle yazacak defteri bulmak hayalken, kılıf bulmanın da epey zor olduğunu tahmin edebilirsiniz. Bu yüzden İzmir'den İzzet Bey, "Diplomat'ın şahane bir kılıfını buldum" deyince kendisine inanmayıp ispatını istedim. O da sağolsun beni kırmayıp bu güzel fotoğrafları gönderdi.

Kılıfın boyutunu bir Kaweco Sport Chess'e nazaran görüyorsunuz. Yani standart kalemler için oldukça ideal. Yumuşak deriden, tam kapaklı ve üzerinde herhangi bir logo vs. mevcut değil.

Yukarıdaki fotoğrafta kılıfın içinde, iki adet Waterman Expert ve bir Visconti Rembrandt var. Yani üç kalemlik bir kılıftan söz ediyoruz. İzzet bey bu kılıfı İzmir Can Kırtasiye'den almış. Fiyatı 100 TL civarında.

When I say "Fountain pen is a mess, don't start", that's why! Never ends with having the pen. You also need ink and notebook to write and a case to carry. In Turkey it is hard to find pens and inks or a notebook to write with fountain pen. So you can imagine how hard to find a proper pen case. That's why when Izzet from Izmir told me that "I found a georgeous pen case from Diplomat", I immediately said "pics or it didn't happen". He was kind enough to send those photos.

You can see the size of the case compared to Kaweco Sport Chess. It is quite ideal for standard size pens. Made from soft leather with a full lid and there is no logo on it.

In the last photo, there are two Waterman Expert and a Visconti Rembrandt in the case. So it is a three pen case. Izzet Bey bought this case from Izmir Can Stationery Store for about 100 TRY (less then 50 EUR)

Yine mürekkepli kalemlerimi sayıca epey artırmışım. Haftasonu hepsini temizleyip sayıyı azaltmaya gayret edeceğim kesinlikle.

Hero Youth 208: Ucuz Çin kalemlerinden bir tanesi ancak ben kendisini sevdim. Çok az miktarda scratchy yazan ucunu da törpü ile biraz ehlileştirince ucuz, hafif ve basit bir kalem çıktı ortaya. İçinde Lamy'nin Turkuaz mürekkebi var. Bu renkleri sevenler için oldukça güzel, yoğun renk veren bir yapıda.

Sheaffer Agio Rainbow: Bu kalem Sheaffer'ın bir dönem ürettiği ve sonra üretmeyi bıraktığı kalemlerden. Bildiğimiz Agio'dan tek farkı rengi. Aynı kalemi Prelude'da da görmek mümkün. Aslında itiraf etmek gerekirse salt koleksiyona katılsın diye alınmış kalemlerden :) İçinde kendisine çok yakıştırdığım Edelstein Turmaline var.

Louis Vuitton Doc or Lacquer: Yine Louis Vuitton'a ait dolmakalemlerden biri. Aynı serinin bir de deri kaplı olan Doc or Cuir modeli var. Onu da önümüzdeki günlerde sizinle paylaşırım. Üzerinde 18 ayar altın uç var, hafif italikimsi yapıda ve bir miktar esnek. Büyük ve gösterişli bir kalem. Biraz hard start / tutukluk yapıyor ama çözülemeyecek bir sorun değil. İçinde Diamine Imperial Blue var.

Namiki Falcon SF: Bu kalem, esnek uçlu kalemlerin modern bir kaç temsilcisinden bir tanesi. Namiki Pilot'un bir üst sınıf kalem markası. Esnek uçla yazıma alışmak zaman alsa da güzel. Fountain Pen Network'de bu kaleme en uygun mürekkeplerden birinin Noodler's Black Swan serisi olduğu söyleniyordu. Denedim. Gerçekten daha güzel yazıyor sanki.

Scrikss Vintage 71: Günlük kullanımda en sevdiğim kalemlerden bir tanesi. İçinde ise, Rohrer&Klingner Verdigris mürekkep var. Bu mürekkep bir inceleme yazısını hak ediyor. Oldukça farklı bir renk. Mavi-Siyah olarak geçse de, kimi zaman maviye, kimi zaman yeşile dönük. Güzel bir mürekkep.

Lamy Al-Star 1.1: Lamy Safari serisini bilmeyen yoktur diye tahmin ediyorum. Al-Star da aynı serinin, ABS plastik (lego malzemesi) yerine aluminyum olan versiyonu. 1.1 uçla harika bir ikili oluyorlar. Bu gri kalemi, Montblanc Alfred Hitchcock mürekkeple şenlendirmek istedim.

As you can see, the number of my inked pens are too damn high! I am going to clean all and reduce the inked pens during the weekend. I hope.

Hero Youth 2008: It is one of the cheap Chinese pens but I liked it. It was a bit scratchy at first but taming with a nail file, now I have a good writing, plain, simple, light-weight pen now. It has Lamy Turquoise ink and it is a nice, highly saturated ink if you like those colors.

Sheaffer Agio Rainbow: This pen is a limited edition Agio from Sheaffer. The only difference between regular Agio is the rainbow like finish. You can also have this finish with Prelude either. Frankly, this pen was purchased just to add my collection :) I have Edelstein Turmaline in it which I think suits with this pen.

Louis Vuitton Doc or Lacquer: Again another fountain pen from Louis Vuitton. Same line has another model with leather which is called Doc or Cuir. I am going to share it with you in the following days. It has 18K gold nib with a bit cursive and a bit flex. It is big and deluxe looking. It makes a bit hard start but can be solved I guess. It has Diamine Imperial Blue in it.

Namiki Falcon SF: This pen is one of the few modern version's of flex pens. Namiki is the high-end brand of Pilot. Even though it takes time to get used to write flex, it is a nice pen. In Fountain Pen Network fellow people were recommending Noodler's Black Swan inks to use with Falcon. So I tried and indeed it writes better now.

Scrikss Vintage 71: This is one of my favorite pens to use in my daily rotation. It has Rohrer&Klingner Verdigris ink in it. This ink totally deserves a review. It is a nice, different color. Even though it is referred as blue-black; sometimes it looks like green and sometimes blue. Beautiful!

Lamy Al-Star 1.1: I guess everyone knows about Lamy Safari. Al-Star is the same pen just made of aluminum instead of ABS (lego material). It is a match made in heaven with 1.1 italic nib. I wanted to amuse this grey pen with Montblanc Alfred Hitchcock.

Mor mürekkebe ayrı bir ilgim olduğunu sanırım artık söylememe gerek yok. Shangching ile mor mürekkepler hakkında sohbet ederken, aslında hepsini bir arada swatchlamak gerektiği konusunda ikna olduk. Ben de evde böyle bir girişimde bulundum. Ancak neden bilmiyorum scanner renkleri gerçekten olduğu gibi yansıtamadı. Ama yine de bildiğiniz renklerden yola çıkarak az çok bu morlar hakkında fikir sahibi olabilirsiniz diye ümit ediyorum.

Caran d'Ache Storm ve Montblanc Lavender Purple'ı daha önce incelemiştim, hatırlarsanız.

I guess, I don't need to tell again that I am fond of purple inks. While we were talking about purple inks with Shangching, we decided that it would be a good idea to swatch them all together. So I did an attempt. However, don't know why, this time scanner was not successfull enough to reflect the real colors. Nevertheless, referring to the colors you know, you might make an assumption and have an idea I guess.

Cumartesi günü evde temizliğe girişince mürekkepleri ve kalemleri elden geçirmemek olmazdı. Önce kalemler tek tek kutularından çıkartıldı. Boş kalem kutuları büyük ayakkabı kutularına dolduruldu. Kalemler ise, fermuarlı çantalara yerleştirildi. (Soranlar için söyleyeyim, iyisiyle kötüsüyle yaklaşık 4-5 kalem çantası olmuş oldu)

Sailor, J. Herbin, R&K, Aniki, Caran d'Ache ve Noodler's mürekkeplerimi, eve taşındığımda mutfakta bulduğum ve "bişey yaparım ki ben bunla" diye atmadığım eski bir baharat rafına dizdim. Böyle geri kalanlar, çalışma masasının rafında birbirlerini ezmeden bekleşir hale geldiler. Ama yaz gelmeden, mürekkepleri sıcaktan ve ışıktan korumak için başka türlü çeki düzen vermem gerektiğinin farkındayım.

When I start cleaning the house this Saturday, I wanted to organize pens and inks. First, I unboxed all my pens and tucked empty boxes to some shoe boxes. Pens themselves are nested in zipped pen cases. (For those who wonder, it is almost 4-5 zipped cases full)

Some of the inks were organized in an old spice shelf where I found abondoned at my kitchen when I first move in to my new apartment. I am glad that I kept it because since I used it for my Sailor, J. Herbin, R&K, Aniki, Caran d'Ache and Noodler's inks, my other inks became better in the table shelf. However, I need to find a new place to store them right before summer in order to prevent my inks from direct sun light and heat.

Öncelikle bu postu hatırlayanlar parmak kaldırsın! 6 Nisan'a çok az kaldı. Mekan ve saat belli oldu. Şimdi elleri görelim :) 6 Nisan Cumartesi günü Cihangir'de Savoy Pastanesinde 16:00-18:00 arası buluşup, tanışıyoruz. Aslında zaten birbirimizi tanıyor sayılırız ama yüzyüze de görüşme fırsatımız olacak umarım.

Bu haftanın kalemlerinden iki tanesi geçen haftadan kalma.

Bu mürekkebi, yüzyüze de tanışma fırsatı bulduğumuz dolmakalem arkadaşlarımdan biri sayesinde denedim ve aşık oldum. En kısa zamanda edinilesi, oldukça kuvvetli ve güzel bir renk.

Sheaffer Agio Rainbow ise içindeki Pelikan Edelstein Turmaline ile genelde başlık yazmakta kullanıldığından bu haftaya devretti.

Sheaffer Targa 1001 çok uzun zamandır elimde bulunmasına rağmen ilk defa kullanıyorum ve şimdiye kadar neden kullanmadım diyerek epeyce kızdım kendime. Oldukça hafif ve yumuşak yazan bir kalem. İçinde Pelikan Edelstein Sapphire var.

Haftanın diğer bir kalemi ise Lamy Lady. Daha önce sizlere detaylı olarak anlattığım bu kalem gerçekten çok şık ve sevilesi. İçerisinde ise Montegrappa Bordo mürekkep var ama sanki daha canlı bir bordo ile daha iyi durabilirdi. (Tavsiyelerinize açığım)

Son kalem ise, daha ilk incelemelerimde tanıttığım Pilot Prera. Gördüğünüz gibi medium ucu oldukça ince ve Sailor Black ile hoş bir ikili oluşturdular.

Two of this week's pens remained from last week.

Hero Youth 208: It is a cheap Chinese pen but since I really liked the way it writes, I inked it second time with L'artisan Pastellier Omi Osun which I got from a fountain pen fellow that we had chance to met in person. It is quite a nice ink with good saturation. I think I should get it as soon as possible.

Sheaffer Agio Rainbow is mainly used for headlines so I couldn't consume the ink in it, Pelikan Edelstein Turmaline.

Sheaffer Targa is a pen that I owned a long time ago, yet that I haven't used since yesterday. It is quite nice and a smooth writer so that I am asking myself why I neglected it for such a long time!?! It was inked with Pelikan Edelstein Sapphire.

Another currently inked pen is Lamy Lady. This pen which was reviewed in detail before is a nice and very elegant looking pen. It has Montegrappa Bourdeaux in it which seems a bit faded. I would be glad if you have suggestions for a vivid bourdeaux.

Lasty, an old friend Pilot Prera one of my first reviews. As you can see it has a very fine line for a medium nib. It gets along very well with Sailor Black.

Orhan Pamuk'un en güzel romanlarından Yeni Hayat'a ithafen söylemek isterim: "Bir gün bir blog açtım ve hayatım değişti".

İşte bugün o blogun birinci yıldönümü. İlk yazımı 3 Nisan 2012 tarihinde yazmışım. O gün, o ilk yazıyı yazarken blogun bu noktaya geleceğini öngörüyor muydum? Hayır! Kesinlikle hayır! Ama suya attığım taş, suyun ortasına düştü ve halkalar yayarak ilerledi ve bir sürü insana temas etti. Bu blog nedeniyle hayatımdan çıkan insanlar oldu, hayatıma girenler olduğu kadar. Kimileri el sallayıp geçtiler, kimileri hiç çıkmamacasına yerleştiler.

Biliyorum, en güzel blog bu değil, en başarılı blog da bu değil. Temasından, yazı karakterine, içinde verilen bilgilerden üsluba, pek çok hata var. Fotoğraflar hayalimdeki gibi güzel olmuyor bazen, renkler tam çıkmıyor. Kimi postlar acele acele hazırlanıyor bir dostla içilecek bir fincan çaya yetişmek isterken. Ama her gün yeni bir şey öğrenmeye, öğrendiklerimi aktarmaya, paylaşmaya gayret ediyorum. Çünkü biliyorum ki paylaştıkça güzelleşiyor, paylaştıkça çoğalıyor insan.

Bu süreçte yanımda olduğunuz, yazmadığım zamanlarda bile desteğinizi, selamınızı, maillerinizi, mektuplarınızı eksik etmediğiniz için teşekkür ederim.

Referring to Orhan Pamuk's book New Life, I would like to say "One day, I star writing a blog and my whole life has changed"

And this day is the first anniversary of this blog. I wrote my first post on April 3, 2012. Did I foresee that this blog will change my life that much? No, absolutely not! But the pebble dropped on the water started creating circles which touched a lot of people. There have been people who got out of my life because of this blog, and the ones who entered as well. Some just passed by waving his/her hand and some settled.

I know, this is neither the best blog nor the most successful one. There are a lot of mistakes on this blog starting from its theme, to fonts, information to style. Photos are never as good as I imagined. Generally I cannot reflect the colors as it should be. Sometimes I rush to prepare my blog in order to catch a friend to have a cup of tea together. But I try learning something new everyday and conveying and sharing them. Because I know, a person can get better as he/she shares.

I want to thank you all for being with me in all this period, supporting me with your comments, e-mails, snail mails even in the times that I don't regularly write.

Herkesin, özellikle de benim heyecanla beklediğim 1. geleneksel blog buluşması dün gerçekleşti. İnsanlık için küçük, benim içinse oldukça büyük bir adımdı. Kimler gelecek, gelen olacak mı, yoksa tek başıma oturup, eve dönecek miyim diye düşünceler içerisinde, dün İstanbul'da havanın çok güzel olmasının yarattığı trafiğin azizliğine uğrayarak, erken gelmeyi planlamışken, tam saat dörtte Savoy pastanesinden içeri girdim. Ama korktuğum gibi olmadı, çok güzel insanlar, İstanbul'un dört bir yanından kalem ve mürekkep konuşmak üzere geldiler.

Merceklerle kalemler kontrol edildi...

Miniklere kalem, el yazısı sevgisi aşılandı...

Türkiye'de dolmakalem sevmenin zorlukları üzerine konuşuldu...

Ve iki saat su gibi akıp gitti. Her ne kadar kalem harcamalarında büyük bir artışa sebep olduğum için dava açılmakla tehdit edildiysem de :), kendi adıma, bu blogu açma fırsatım olduğu için bir kere daha şükrettim. Gelen herkese, gelmek isteyip de burada olamayanlara, arayıp durum raporu alan tüm arkadaşlarıma (yalnız başıma oturup, gözyaşlarına boğulmuş muyum diye kontrol ediyorlardı :p) teşekkür ediyorum. İyi ki varsınız, iyi ki güzel insanları bir araya getiren dolmakalemler gibi güzel nesneler var.

Long awaited 1st Traditional(!) Write to Me Often Meeting was realized yesterday. It was a one small step for mankind but a giant leap for me :) I stepped in Savoy Café just in time (traffic occurred due to the perfect weather in Istanbul) while I planned to go there early with questions in my mind: Who will come or will people attend, will I be all by myself? But my fearsome thoughts were not happened and wonderful people coming from far and near sides of Istanbul attended.

We checked the pens with loops...

We instilled pen enthusiasm to the minors...

Talked about the hardness of being a pen enthusiast in Turkey...

And two hours flied. And on my behalf I once again thanked for having chance to start this blog even though people claimed to file a lawsuit against me since I made them spend too much on pens :) Therefore, I want to thank you all who accepted the invitation, who wanted to be there but couldn't (Shangching, Bruno and Azizah!), who called asking for the situation (they checked if I was sitting alone, burst into tears or not :p). So glad I have you and so glad there are beautiful objects like pen gathers wonderful people around.

So, keep writing!

İlkokulda hepimize öğretirler. "Kitap en iyi arkadaştır". Sanırım bunu o kadar benimsemişim ki, ne zaman derdim olsa, kitaba koşarım. Belki de Stoacılar haklıdır, doğanın kitabı varken, kağıttan kitapları açıp okumaya gerek yoktur. Ama yine de kitap sevgisi yerleşmiş içime. Kindle almış ve aslında çok da sevmiş bir insan olarak, bir türlü kağıdın güzelliğinden, kenarlarına el yazısıyla aldığım notlardan vazgeçemiyorum. Tabi fotoğrafta görünenin gerçek kitaplar olmadığını fark etmişsinizdir. Ama yine de gerçek kitaplardan sonra bir dolmakalem severin sıkı dostu olmaya aday bir kumbara kendisi.

Eğer dolmakalemlere gönül verdiyseniz bunun pahalı bir hobi olduğunu fark etmişsinizdir. Yok yeni başlıyorsanız yol yakınken dönün :) İşte ben de dolmakalemlerimi finanse edebilmek için kendime en iyi arkadaş kitap kumbaradır deyip bir kumbara aldım. Cebimdeki bozuklar, ufak tefek "aa bu montun cebinde 10 lira kalmış, yaşasın!" banknotları, hep bu kumbaranın içine giriyor. Bu kumbara sayesinde çok güzel bir kalem aldım kendime. Onu da yakında buraya misafir ederim. (Tahmini olan var mı?)

In primary school we were all taught that "Books are our best friends" I guess I adopt this so much that whenever I have a problem I refer to books. I don't know, maybe Stoic philosophers were right. There is no need for paper books where is a huge book of nature lays open in front of us. Yet I have book-love inside. Even though I have a Kindle and I really like it, I am still sticked to paper books and I cannot give up taking handwritten notes. Of course you noticed the pile in the photo is not a real. However, it is a coin bank nominated to be the second best friend of mine after paper books.

If you set your heart on fountain pens, you already knew that it is an expensive hobby. If you just started, don't dive, before it is too late :) See, I got this coin bank to finance my fountain pens. All my coins, "look I found 10 dollar on my winter coat, yay!" changes go into this coin bank. With this coin bank I got a beautiful fountain pen which you can see on the blog soon. (Any guess?)
